Jonaxx: Everything You Need To Know About MPress’ Queen J
Jonaxx, world’s most followed Wattpad writer, publishes stories under Majesty Press with Summit Books and Pop Fiction.
August 28, 2020

Jonaxx’s journey to becoming the queen of Wattpad may have begun as a simple hobby that involved paper, pen, and daydreams, but it has bloomed into a passion not just for her, but also for her fans worldwide.

With 4.4 million followers on Wattpad, she has surpassed Anna Todd (or imaginator1D, the author of the After series) as the most followed author on the website. Indeed, she has become a force to be reckoned with as her online presence only grew more over time. She even has her own Jonaxx Stories App, which was just launched this year and already has more than half a million downloads on the Google Playstore. Plus, hundreds of thousands of fans follow her various social media accounts.

Meet the beautiful and talented girl from the Philippines who took the online writing world by storm.

Jonaxx: Reigning Queen of Wattpad

Jonaxx is the first Filipino to get her account on Wattpad verified and the first Filipino writer to gain one million followers.

Hailing from Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, Jonaxx, or Jonahmae Pacala, discovered her flair for writing at the young age of 10 years old. But even before that, she knew that she wanted to write. When she was eight years old, she would write dialogues for her dolls, which she would let her friends read. During her elementary years, she was never fond of long novels, but she found herself inexplicably drawn to sad short stories. She was a bored teenager, reading other people’s stories on Creative Corner, a section on teen magazine Candy’s online forums. This inspired her to write her own stories in 2003, including Shakespeare in Love, Princess in Disguise, Loving Darkness, How to Produce a Prince, Downfall Chronicles, Just That, 24 Signs of Summer, Remembering Summer, Invisible Man, No Perfect Prince, and Chase and Hearts. She eventually found her way to Wattpad in 2012 where she first posted Chase and Hearts, then an ongoing story she was still writing. Today, she may be publishing her stories in her own online app, but she remains still the reigning queen of Wattpad.

Among the many nicknames given to her by her fans, lovingly called “Jonaxx Stories Lovers” or JSLs, are “The Royal Writer,” “Queen J” or “Queen Jonaxx,” and even “Kween J.”

She dabbled in mainstream publishing with Summit Books, specifically in these imprints: Sizzle, Pop Fiction, and Majesty Press or MPress, which is her very own imprint.

Other than writing, Jonaxx enjoys walks on the beach, the summer breeze, city lights, movie dates, coffee and tea, romance, dolls, teddy bears, and rainbow-colored unicorns. Surprisingly, she didn’t pursue a degree in creative writing in college. Instead, she chose to study Education. She earned her degree in education from Xavier University–Ateneo de Cagayan and even became a preschool teacher.

The Birth of Majesty Press

Majesty Press or MPress was made by Jonaxx with Summit Books after seeing the love that her adoring fans have given her over the years. Majesty Press serves as an avenue for her to perfect her craft in the mainstream publishing industry.

MPress publishes the unabridged, uncut versions of her beloved stories—some of which contain new and special content written exclusively for the MPress books imprint.

“Inspired by my published books and the support of my readers, Majesty Press or MPress ang regalo namin sa inyo dahil sa walang sawa ninyong pagsusuporta sa akin,” Jonaxx says in her preface to Heartless, the first book published under MPress.

The first book boasted over 400 pages of pure uncut Jonaxx stories, printed on a premium bigger-sized book. She would later publish seven other hefty books under the imprint—with one book going up to over 600 pages.

Jonaxx’s MPress Stories

Under Majesty Press, Jonaxx published the following books: Heartless, Worthless, Every Beast Needs A Beauty, Training to Love, Mapapansin Kaya, Baka Sakali Trilogy, and End This War. She also published the Alegria Boys Limited Edition Boxed Set, which includes special exclusive content compiled in a booklet entitled Tales From Alegria.

Heartless follows the story of Correen Samantha Aquino, the heroine who gets in between brothers, Noah Elizalde and Rozen Elizalde. Under the same Elizalde Brothers Series, MPress also published Worthless, which follows the stormy romance between Noah Elizalde and Maria Georgianne Mafori and examines a person’s self-worth in love.

Every Beast Needs A Beauty (or EBNAB, as it’s known by fans) tells the story of Sunny’s struggle to choose between the things she’s always needed in life over those her heart desires—which includes heartthrob Rage Del Fierro.

In Training to Love, Troy Ezekiel Salazar thinks he knows the ways of the heart, but when he meets Trisha Roncesvalles, he suddenly finds himself becoming the student of what it truly means to love.

Finally, in the Alegria Boys series, Jonaxx takes us on a tour of the place she has created in her imagination as she tells the tales of Wade, Jacob, and Hector. In Mapapansin Kaya, Baka Sakali, and End This War, the Alegria boys grapple with their feelings for the women who have changed their lives forever.

Before MPress: Jonaxx’s Books in Pop Fiction, Sizzle, and Creative Corner

Jonaxx has been working with Summit Media ever since the start of her career. After all, she first posted her stories on the Candy Teentalk Forum in 2003.

Before MPress, Jonaxx’s published books in the mainstream were first released under the Pop Fiction imprint. The first Pop Fiction book by Jonaxx? Mapapapansin Kaya, of course!

She then published her first book in steamy romance imprint Sizzle: Heartless, a two-part book with a sultry black and white cover of a rose, which won her the Filipino Readers’ Choice Award for Romance in Filipino in 2015.

Her next much-awaited book with Pop Fiction was Every Beast Needs A Beauty.

She ended her Pop Fiction run with the release of an entire trilogy in one go, the Baka Sakali Trilogy, which was launched in one of the biggest book signing events by a single author by a local publisher.

“I made this application for my readers, the JSLs, or the Jonaxx Stories Lovers, to enjoy. This will be my safe haven from now on because it is moderated, and it has more specific rules. I hope you enjoy reading!” she says in the About Jonaxx section of her app.

She is still writing and sharing with her beloved fans all the stories that have been brewing in her imagination.

Majesty Press will also be launching another one of her stories as well. Soon to hit stories nationwide, Why Do You Hate Me? releases in December 2020 to all Summit Book Shops online. Why Do You Hate Me? follows Charity, a girl who everyone likes except for the man she desires.

Here’s a description of every one of Jonaxx’s published books on MPress:

Elevators. Airplanes. I always like the things in between. “You only like things in between, Coreen. You only like the chase. You only want me chasing after you. You don’t want to decide. And you? I don’t think nararamdaman mo ’yong sakit na nararamdaman ko. You are just too heartless.”

Maria Georgianne Marfori has loved Noah Elizalde more than anyone in this world. Never. She will end up with Noah no matter what happens. But is it really right to love him that much at a young age? We have to decide which one to use.

But do we always have the chance to choose? How will you fight for your heart when you know from the start that you will lose? That you are worthless?

Why do we want this: to love someone who does not love us? To leave those who want to stay? To push away those who want to stay close? To treasure what is worthless?

Every Beast Needs A Beauty

Life is hard but it’s easy to be strong. She was invincible because of that.

Her dreams were easy to achieve. Simple, even.

She decides to treat his attitude towards her as a challenge. But when she gets the chance to get close to Wade, Reina forgets everything—all her inhibitions and doubts. She allows herself to fall for him.

Dahil baka sakali... baka sakali...

End This War

Francesca Alde knows that Hector dela Merced is forbidden. She’d been in love once but now she realizes how shallow everything was compared to what she’s feeling for the man she’s supposed to hate.

Training to Love

Troy Ezekiel Salazar has mastered the Art of Seduction. It’s so easy for him to get any girl he wants that it’s become boring. Naniniwala siya na there’s no such thing as romantic love. For him, there’s only seduction.

With her signature sneakers, t-shirt, and bleached shorts, she can easily blend in with the crowd.

Out of his boredom, sinubukan ni Troy na turuan si Trisha na akitin ang gusto nitong lalaki. Troy thought it would be easy to teach her his ways but the master finds himself becoming the student, and ends up training to love.
